I wasn't able to destress with dessert yet... I've been dreaming of Lia's avocado cake... or/and Chocolate Kiss's dayap cake... Hmm. soon.
Coffee sugar crystals. uhmmm what will they think of next. Service at a press of a button ... hey that's not so bad.
Best friends lingering over coffee and pastry -- nothing beats that ha (except magnificent moments with yohan and yohan's dad -- haha).
My own real best friend has migrated abroad but I don't feel too deprived ... there are wonderful friends still here and guess what i am making new friends from blogging and touching base with old ones since I got semi-active in our alumni association. Aaaah ... good times, these.

Anybody whom I can understand and have an ear to me....anybody whom i can trust and vise....
the poem, i really like it very much, not only like....a good friendship canīt found anywhere or to anybody, but seldom who is really true a good ones....

@ Alice - It was my first time to see that kind of sugar too. It was light brown in color and crystal like.
@ Chats - I can relate to such days. I'm sure you miss your bestfriend very much. I like how you expounded on that quote. "Destressing with dessert." - by Chateau. Glad I didn't have to type author unknown on that one. :) Thank you for sharing.
I have not seen sugar like that before... I would love to try them with my coffee. Usually I like my coffee with brown sugar. :)
As for my best friend, I don't think I really had one before...

How nice of you to be able to do some catching up with your bestfriend. I have a best friend, but she is in another country. I miss her, and I hope to share a cup of coffee with her soon.. haaay ulit.
hey, i like that: stressed spelled backwards is dessert. :) Maybe tomorrow, I will do that - destress with dessert.

im sure time flew fast when you and chary were together :) sked na lang uli.
it's a big effort for my bff and i to meet, kaya mga once a year lang kami magkita. we live on opposite sides of the metro kasi, but we email and chat often. so whenever we do get the chance to meet, talk fest galore :D
Hi Rach, glad to know you had some time with your friend Chary. Hope she's better now. I have so many bestfriends in grade school but lost contact with them except for one. In high school, I have 3 (one just lost her hubby the other day). And in college, I have 5. Grabe dami noh. I missed them so much. I know they're busy with family & career but we get to call and txt each other for updates. It's really great to have lots of friends, they're priceless...
I had the same order and same pictures [call button and mango crepe] taken when I was at UCC with friends... I was just thinking about posting them, pero naunahan mo na ako.
i have a bestfriend in HS and another in college. i actually wrote about them in my blog once.
i like the trivia you got here about stressed and desserts. ang galing.
@ Tammy - I treasure my old friends in school but I'm also glad to meet wonderful friends in blogland like you. Nothing is impossible, I do hope we get a lovely chance to meet someday. Take care!
It is always nice to get together with a friend. I have a friend from my school days that we see each other from time to time. I have lots of friends in Blogland that I would love to get together with, you being one of them!
I think our American restaurants need that little service bell...I get so tired of craning my neck and waving my arm to get the attention I need.

@ Cookie - Sometimes friends blend nicely because they compliment each other. You don't eat mangoes? Now, that's unique.
@ Mixednuts - That's nice! I miss my high school friends because majority of them are already living abroad but whenever one of them goes home for a vacation, we always make time for a little get together.
@ Feng - Yes, problems are easier to bare when someone is there beside you. RE the service button, I wish more restaurants can use the same idea.

Hi Rachel I have a best friend I went to school with 54 years ago and she comes to my place for holidays and we talk to each other on the phone every day....and she was also with myself and family when I lost my dear Hubby.
True Friends are a treasure.
Oh yes I have. My best friend since high school and now the family's orthodontist. I love her to bits. This post made me want to write about my friends. :)
your post made me missed my bestfriend. :( hay. agree with you, it's feels good knowing someone's just there to listen, even if she/he can't give you a solution to your problem.
re: UCC's service button, why that's very good of them. customer-oriented pala sila.
There is so many good things to say about friendships. I am still in touch with my high school friends and we laugh when remembering the funny times. BTW, the desserts in UCC are really good.
I have 2 bff's. One from High School and one from college. Both are really whacked out, if you know what I mean. But this is what makes us click. We don't see or talk to each other very often but when we do, it's like reliving every moment that we missed in between talks.
BTW, can you believe that I don't eat mangoes. I'm the only Pinoy who doesn't!! Give me pakwan and lansones instead, and I'll be a happy camper :)
I have a best friend that I don't get to see very often. What I like about our friendship is that no matter how much time has passed, we can pick up where we left off.
You're lucky, Rachel for having Chary. Like you, my friends are my treasures, too.
It's a little over a week now since we've arrived and I can still hear Yohan's karaoke time. Hugs and kisses to him.
