Caroline,
Maybe one day I will. Cala tried to convince me by telling me that there are Indian women of my complexion, and that I wouldn't look like I shouldn't be wearing one.
I buy sari fabric like it's going out of style and use it for scarves and so on. The colours are fabulous, and the texture of the fabric is beautiful.
Sonja,
Ain't that a fact?
Benjamin,
Thank you.

It's funny how the same illness can effect different people in different ways. And it's also interesting to see how people react when they hear about illnesses - especially mental illness. There were (and realistically still are) few people I discuss my bi-polar disorder with because you honestly never know how people will react ("oh god - is she crazy?"). I blog about it because I feel safe to do so because most people don't know who you are. I think you are just as brave as this family for openly accepting them for who and what they are without predjudice and with compassion. You are a rare breed Radmilla, I hope you realize just how special you are.

That's kind of you to say Stacy.
I think if people knew how many people they really do know who are bi-polar, they would be surprised.
It's an illness people keep secret.
I've had family and friends who have suffered with mental illnesses.
Believe me when I say that we're all one tragedy away.

Not to mention their struggles with the younger son and the friends he keeps.

You have left me speechless. What a beautiful post. I thought about it all night last night....the depth of your words and the familiarity that you bring to the setting is powerfully haunting and sublime all at the same time.
