To me, the interesting feature of this painting is that the landscapes behind the figure on the left and the right don't seem to match at all. I think this provides some anxiety around the portrait. Leonardo did lots better work than this, but it it wasn't so damn famous, I think I would consider this a lovely portrait.

I agree with you. I think that the whole hype around who she was propelled this painting into hype
