My immediate response to this posting was "WHO'S Clay Aitken?" Oh, isn't he a singer or something...? I know nothing about him. But what I DO know is that every one of the broads involved in this -- Kelly Ripa and the weirdos on The View -- are not worth anybody's time of day. What a bunch of self-important nobodies! And I don't know WHAT any of this has to do with kids, who will, yes, eat dirt if they are so inclined -- at least when they are very little.
While surfing around one YouTube posting led to another and that's how I came to hear this self-serving crap about "I'M A MOTHER...and unless you're a mother you wouldn't understand" thing that got up my nose. Every single time I"ve caught the view, the blonde manages to bring up the fact that she's a mother, with some self-righteous commentary attached. It's irritating.
A friend of mine has a couple of kids under the age of 4 and also works in a daycare, if you can believe it. She scrubs her hands so often she's barely got skin left on them, and it's the only thing keeping her from being sick as a dog 24/7.
Kids are nothing more than petri dishes in feet pyjamas, and no matter how clean they look, they're always sticky.

Seriously though, I thought you gave up reading my blog.
In my opinion, she was furious and offended that he would silence her that way on her own show. But her instinct was to try to be funny about it, and so she said, laughingly, "I don't know where that hand has been." She was mad, not worried, but now she has to defend herself with this health nonsense.
And it's easier to defend one's health in the court of public opinion, rather than defend one's huge flaming ego.
