On your statement on Henry - he was not a stunning when he used to play away from the hockey pitch size Highbury. There aren't much great performances away (I do remember 5-1@inter and 1-0@Real Madrid). And he was way too far from stunning at the Emirates. Also during the invincible season, Nedved and Shevchenko(ballon dor winners) were doing much better for their respective clubs. They were worthy winners. And about being media darling - Cristiano Ronaldo, media darling??? He was public enemy number one after the worldcup incident. I believe if he became media darling, thats only because of his quality of play. In a sense you are right, Journalist vote for the winner, so the player need to be media darling. Having said that, Torres was also media darling, wasn't he? So, I think your complaint about Henry is not right.
