Does this relate to what a lot of older people mean when they say that the older they get the more "real" they feel??

Speaking from personal experience. Really. I feel more like myself than I have since I was 5.

Personally, I've always found the population genetics school nice and tidy (and largely correct) but lacking. Say, in 50 years, we get a unified theory of gene expression. Will they be right and the population geneticists wrong? Don't neccessarily think so....

Notice also that, instead of a nature
vs. nuture argument, you can easily
derive a nature vs. biological nuture
vs. behavioral nuture argument. Not like we need more dichotomies, but
it's worth thinking about. Something
like senescence would really be fascinating to look at within this framework.

Coyne was on campus here two years ago. I really wish he'd come back so I could put him on the spot about this.
