Finnish population haha
The apoE gene frequencies observed (epsilon 2, 0.041; epsilon 3, 0.733; epsilon 4, 0.227) differ significantly from those in other populations. The frequency of the allele epsilon 2 was lower and that of epsilon 4 higher than in all other studied populations.

Search PubMed for "deary apoe" for his papers on the gene & its effect on cognitive aging (including following up on the Scottish people who were part of the huge national survey earlier in the century).

Apoe 4 needs one copy to cause Alzheimers but Apoe 3 does the same with 2 maternal and paternal.
If you do a google alert for apoe. what you will get is 48% Arteralsclorosis ,48% Alzheimers and 4%junk
my wife has Ftld and Alzheimers. Her family history is one person who died of Alzheimers her uncle [paternal] Everyone else did heart attacks and strokes in their 50s. her uncle did them too but they didn't kill him.
My wife 58 yrs, has had dementia for 25 yrs, she takes lipitor ,tennorman, accupril. her cholesterol is great due to them.
So reading the post what saves you from the runs in youth, either gets your heart or mind later.
some one needs to connect heart attacks and Alzheimers. this is necessary for people to make informed decisions on what they might want to do when they are diagnosed with high cholesterol
5 junk
