Japanese RPGs aren't real RPGs. Genuine RPGs descend from pen&paper games. Japanese "RPGs" are hybrid tactical/strategy and adventure games.

I don't have anything to contribute with regard to the Japanese language, I just felt it was my duty as a former codexer to make that stickling point.
