One day at Salvation Army I happened upon a paperback abridged "Sociobiology" and a 1980s Annual Reviews Anthropology: 50 cents each.

I know from experience that Annu Rev is a fantastic on any and all biomed topics, but I found the entire ~200-page Annu Rev Anthro to be unreadable.
