It doesn't say what took place in the assault. I don't think they do for a myriad of reasons. Sadly, I can think of a bunch of things that the perp could have done that would only last a few minutes but would still constitute assault. The friends split up, the one girl was assualted (attempted oral sex, if you'd care to read the article), then the girl who was assualted ran home. The time from when the two split up, to when the victim got home was 15 minutes, and the friend didn't scream 'cuz she wasn't around.
