The victim looks like a pretty big guy. It's not like the thugs are only picking on little old ladies. Anyone downtown after dark better have their guard up.

My best friend is a woman who lives in this area. I'm frightened for her.

as long as someone isn't killed they don't arrest people. what's the point they will be free in a month or two anyways.

Minneapolis quagmire... Seems like everywhere quagmire. Rambix, have you seen any details about a dangerous dinner-hour attack in Maplewood? KSTP 5 has a quick note online, but it has typos... First they say police are no longer going to look for suspects, then at the end, they mention a search for suspects. Nothing in the Strib--the top story is the 50th anniversary of Southdale--big deal...

Sorry folks, but for me it's nice to see a Uptown-Kenwood "urban socialist" as Rambix calls them getting their teeth kicked in. Serves them right for caring so much.

Anyway, I think these "beatdowns" are copycat crimes. The kids see that they could be on T.V. if they beat up a "white person" so on the weekends they band together and go after one. You know, since the MPD are dolts and won't bother checking into these crimes further.

Gravatar For once, I can honestly say that I pretty much agree with pops! (waiting for the lightning bolt.....) But yes, maybe as the quagmire escalates further, and more of the socialist liberals get beaten down, then maybe they'll realize that their "programs" have failed. Unfortunately, they'll probably come to the conclusion that they need to throw more money at it and come up with more programs to "try" to halt the escalating violence.
Although there are some who are such firm pacifists that no amount of beatings, robberies, etc. will make them change. That, I truly cannot understand.

Gravatar pops it isn't nice to see anyone getting beatdown. Nor are the MPD dolts. The MPD is the only link in Hennepin County's weak legal chain that seems to work.
The Police make the arrests, AK pleas the felon down to a misdemeanor, and the Hennepin County Judge sentences the thug to probation.

Gravatar Jay is correct, rambix has had multiple stories about repeat offenders roaming the streets. The Cops are understaffed and AK and the Judges don't like to put people away for any significant time.

We also need the paper to start publishing descriptions. Then people can act accordingly.

Gravatar Come on, I was down there at that time, I didn't see anything going on, Quit making this crap up.

Gravatar 'come one, come all to the great city of mpls. enjoy an all-expense paid welfare trip, settle down in squatters quarters, and enjoy the sight of newspaper tumbleweeds drifting through the streets.
have a chance to tumble with the urban socialites after 8 pm as you accumulate your souvenir cell phones, wallets, and other personal items from the great citizens of the city.
as you enjoy your scenic cop car ride to the local jail, prepare yourself for the time of your life with three hots and a cot for your two week long stay as you network with your fellow clients. upon release, you will be given a new opportunity to add to your resume while the authorities hold news conferences in your honor. bring the kids.'

Gravatar interesting story here:

Gravatar I love how PC the guy is in his description:

"It was very scary. I started panicking when I realized I was being surrounded by a group of people,"

He can't even bring himself to say they were MEN, say nothing of other descriptions that might actually help other people.

Pathetic.

Gravatar He's never been surrounded by anyone other than his limousine liberal cheese eating arts patron pals!

Gravatar Yeah, this beatdown is kind of a victory for the working class.

Gravatar Sure pops,
if you think that the thugs are the "working class".

I don't care what this guy's political philosophy or income is, he didn't deserve to be beaten by thugs. He does deserve to have the thugs caught, tried and punished. As unlikely as that may be in Minneapolis.

Gravatar Thank you, Jay! Good points!! Anyone of any political label getting beat is not going to sway anyone to do anything about the crime wave. We saw that in candidate Mike Katch. Our current leadership will only be convinced if we influence their wallets--not their minds. We have to tell the officials that WE pay taxes and WE visit businesses and WE VOTE--the thugs and gangstas do not. Each citizen that is replaced by a thug is another ding against the ecomomy.
