Well our 'wedding' was close to that. Our reception, however, demands more formality what with the family involvement.
le sigh.
If I was to get married again, it would involve a drum barbeque, sand, steaks, and lots of beer on ice...
I think I would email the invitations....
of course, with an attitude like this... I wouldn't be able to find a girl to marry me... so I guess I better not have to go through it again...

Yeah I'm a little daunted by your schedule. I've lucked out a bit b/c, although my family is Irish and rivals Italians in their love for a big party, they're all mostly *in* Ireland so I'm escaping the merri-go-round. Plus we did the wedding itself exactly the way we wanted, really - outside with just close friends and family, and the short timeline made sure it didn't get too out of hand.
The engagement photos came as part of our package with our photographer, but to be honest I kind of wanted to get them done anyways. Any excuse to get nice pictures of us taken, but at the same time you can always hire a photographer for an hour or two to take pictures of your guys, you don't need an engagement to do that!
I guess our wedding is going to be bigger then your wedding so it seems like there are a million more things going on. Plus with us being Italian that opens a whole other can of worm and 20 more events to attend!
Showers, Photos, Dinners, Parties - I would only ever do it once. Its exhusting!!! Trust me, there have been many time during these past few months where I began to see the appeal of eloping or having small weddings!
I think your wedding was absolutely beautiful!
