Seems like a good idea, but there are some inherent problems. The first being the lag time between controller use and visual response. Many gamers like having as close to instant response as possible and having to bounce through the internet isn't going to fill that almost primal need. In some games, it's also a necessity. Try playing Sonic 2 with any button lag. Not gonna happen.
If they can jump this hurdle, they will have to deal with trying to restructure the entire market. Once a system is in place, it is often difficult to uproot it and put in something different.
As much as I like the idea of not having to shell out a small fortune for upgrades... I have a feeling that many will still be forced to do so.
Why, that sounds amazing!.... And I have an aweful feeling that it'll fail miserably!

I think that this could be a great step forward in technology but I have my doubts about it actually taking off and being widely accepted. I think this is just too before its time. The idea of not having to keep upgrading computer hardware and everything and just have your game stream over the internet sounds all good to me, but corporations will do everything in their might to keep this thing from getting off the ground.
If cloud computing becomes a big hit then people won't go to game stores to buy game, hardware companies like Nvidia will have no reason to bring out new advances in tech other than physics engines. Any new idea that will cut into big corperations oppertunities to get money will always be under threat of companies doing everything in their might to destory it. Its sad but its true.
But who knows, I would love to see this go through because I know that I want to play Crysis Warhead on my computer at max settings on my 34inch HD TV but I will most likely never have the computer that will be able to do that. If it is just streaming over the internet then I might have a better chance of realising that dream lol.
