If Barack Obama and some of his more high profile supporters were to behave in this fashion towards Hillary, Huckabee and McCain, the outrage, and calls for ostracism would be loud and CONSTANT. They would be unavoidable.
Just as the media coverage of Jeremiah Wright was constant and unavoidable. Obama would have become a pariah overnight and calls for him to quit the race amidst blanket condemnations of him and all his progeny into infinity would saturate the media.
But with McCain and Hagee, there is a double standard. McCain says, I repudiate him. And that ends it. Aside from a bit of flailing around, the media tucks its tail between its legs and skulks away.
If Huckabee says, "Oops, sorry," after his NRA appearance, The media says, "OK." and skulks away. Finito. He apologized.
Hillary didn't even really apologize. But the media began excusing her immediately. They said she was tired. They said she didn't mean it. They even went on to interpret the news for us...because we are retarded, I guess, and they told us what she really "meant."

Rush Limbaugh gets to advocate voter fraud on his radio show and call it Operation Chaos. People went to jail in the aftermath of Watergate for dirty tricks. But Rush gets away with it.
He can even use his radio talk show, which reaches millions daily, to advocate violence, by starting riots at the Democratic Convention in Denver this August.
This is not a free speech issue. Not when you are advocating violence. Not when what you are saying constitutes a threat to the public's safety, or to the personal safety of one of our citizens. Why not just get a bullseye target and plaster it on his back?

Don't be baffled by the media reaction. More than 90% of media, from Viacom to your local newspaper, is controlled by Jewish CEOs or owners. When Howard Dean,during his campaign, suggested that Israel and Palestine should be treated in an "evenhanded" manner...well....what happened? This nation has lost its way. Or rather, the leaders of this nation have decided on a new way. Blood must be shed, lies must be told and nations must be toppled for this new way. Killing Barack Obama would be no different for them than killing John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King or any other person who dares stand in the way of the truly powerful - oil, energy and war profiteers. Obama's assassination would mean less to these vicious leeches on society than the deaths of Iraqi civilians, which, judging by our press coverage, mean little or nothing to our media. We lost control over the affairs of state when Republicans stacked the federal judiciary with "ditto heads." That single boycott brought the powerful farmers to their knees. bringing about real reform in the fields. Can you still buy grapes today? Of course you can. Supporting the exploited farm workers resulted in stopping fascistic practices, not eliminating grapes from the marketplace. The same strategy will succeed here, regardless of the price of oil (which is so manipulated it is not credible - have you seen the near-vertical rise in the price of oil in the past year, probably to sew the seeds of a severe recession during a Democratic administration). There will be a shortage some day, but as of now, the price of oil and gasoline is the result of greedy profiteers and nothing else. After considering the profits to be made by aggressively pushing Chinese manufacturing to burn off our oil (and by promoting gas-guzzling SUVs), they now allude to peak oil as the reason. Their greed is the reason. Literally burning as rapidly as possible what is destined to be a limited resource leads to massive profits later. Why is it we keep a highly mechanized military in Iraq and Afghanistan? To keep the peace, or to burn as much fuel as fast as possible so Bush and his criminal cronies might profit massively off of his fraud as prices skyrocket?
Remember, our most profitable corporations feed off of wars, disasters, fear and chaos.
Lastly, if your Presidential candidate offhandedly calls for the assassination of her rival don't vote for her. She's clearly not part of the solution.
We need real change. We don't need bloodshed as usual.

A couple of months ago my co-workers asked me what I thought of Obama and if I though he'd be the first black president. I said I figured he'd be the first black guy who would have been president if he had not gotten bumped off. I noticed that too... the second reference to her intentional poor choice of metaphor even let her sublimanly mangle the cliche by dropping the plural use of the word. She said "sticking to her [sic] gun." It cannot be unintentional. This woman isn't that stupid. Evil, yes, stupid no. The insideousness is truly scary. People like Ms Trotta out to really think twice about continuing this crap... if something does happen to Obama, comments like her's are NOT going to be forgotten.

Liz Trotta's disingenuous apology needs to be challenged at the Fox Network executive level, their network advertiser level and at the FCC.
Her exact words of apology, "I am so sorry about happened yesterday. In an attempt at lame humor, I really just fell all over myself in making it appear that I wished Barack Obama harm, or any other candidate for that matter. I sincerely regret it and apologize to anyone I have offended. It's a very colorful season and many of us are making mistakes and saying things we wish we hasn't said."
