Pelosi & Reid are the worst possible choices for congressional leaders. What the hell is wrong with these polititians? We handed them the majority on a silver platter, and they just pissed it away.

While I hope Dems can increase their majority in 2008 elections (only because the Repugs would be infinitely worse), they certainly don't deserve it based on their performance since '06.
Sometimes I think we need a new Constitutional Convention & do a complete overhaul of the way the system is set up. Or at least an overhaul of House and Senate rules. If only there could be a viable Independent party that could take a plurality of seats, say 45% Ind, 35% Dem, 20% R, and shake up the status quo. It's happened before. Other parties have risen and fallen, some gone out of existence, like the Federalists or the Whigs.
At no other place does the utter and unbreakable synonymy of the interests of both the Dims and the Pukes reveal itself than in the arena of 'national security.' Both parties (really, both wings of the One Party) cleave with relentless and fierce loyalty t the vision of the USofA as an authoritarian, oligarchic CorpoRatocracy. They may differ slightly as to the means of achieving that end, but both are clearly and historically committed to the program.
Regardless of who's at fault and who's not, it seems that none of them, not one, is capable of standing up and pushing for doing the right thing, unless it benefits their friggin' political careers.

I sent an email to Pelosi. I told her that is these stories about her are false she should deny them and condemn the torturers in our government.
On the other hand, if the stories are true, she should resign and stop being an embarrassment to this country.
