I like the new site. I've thought about switching or adding ads to try to get some pennies coming in but I'm just too chicken to mess anything up. I really haven't had too much trouble with blogger but there are a few things I don't like.

Yep, if you get your own hosting and install wordpress... This would also involve you registering a domain address... you would have the freedom you desire...

You left a comment. That is so sweet! At least you chimed in. It does not matter that you like blogger. I kind of do, but they changed up on me. I was getting really good at HTML, and now I cannot even use it! Grrrr. Besides, I started this site so integrate all of my sites. WordPress allows me to do this without too much of a problem. They have 'import' and leave my work still here!

Are you allowed to use your own HTML? (Or whatever it is they use.) I like to have control over my site. That is why I've been staying with blogger. Now, however, I do not feel like learning a whole new language! Besides, google is in cohoots with china, and they turn in the dissidents. I hate them for this. I am an humanitarian and Godly woman. At least I try. I try not to do business or make money for any company that deals with China or any other oppressive government.

I know let than anyone but Visual Thoughts.com,dlennis.wordpress.com is fairly new and has a great site. I'm sure he would be glad to assist. Also Lew at rightinaleftworld.blogspot.com is also fairly new and he seems to be doing well with blogspot. He I'm sure can assist. Both are very nice and seem to know what they are doing. Lew might have some clues about blogspot and dl might be able to help with wordpress. dl has some real good stuff on his. No politics just writings and pictures. Hope it helps.
I used to use Blogger... and went a got free hosting...(that's correct FREE HOSTING!) and now use wordpress... I love it...

FYI... I used Wordpress.com and I found the support staff to be total a-holes... so, I felt and now I got my own copy of wordpress...Matt @ wordpress.com is a total jerk.

i'm always hearing about problems with blogger but i am very happy there and i think their upside potential (google) is great, new features and such. uptime, space and bandwidth would seem hard to beat.
don't know much about WP but their users seem very loyal ... guess i'm not much help
I started to leave blogger for WordPress and found myself in way over my head. Blogger was awful when I began but it has improved quite a bit, especially in reliability, since. And of course I am familiar with it now. But I caution you! ...I am an idiot, so surely you should ignore my limited experience!

Dear David, I've been playing with WP for a while, but it would not allow me to do some of those same things you mentioned. When I went to make this change of integrating all of my posts, I found out there has been many changes! I still gotta have that control. Gotta have it, gotta have it!

A couple of years ago, a wonderful pirate hijacked me over from Blogger to my own WordPress site, domain name and hosting.

It does take a small change in thinking to manage WordPress v. managing a Blogger account ("small change in thinking"="complete shift of worldview" ), but it's a change that's well worth it, IMO. The management features alone make it well worth it.
Of course, no matter where you have your blog, there'll be tech glitches from time to time, but I have had fewer tech glitches with my hosted WP blog than with Blogger, many fewer. *heh*
If WordPress.com works for you, though (at the time of my "hijacked switch" there were things I wanted to do that were not possible @WP.com blogs), you might just stick with it for a while.

Would free be inexpensive enough? I can host you, all you need is your own domain name. You can have all the disc space you need and there's plenty of bandwidth to go around. Let me know if you're interested.
I'm a Wordpress Junkie just because you can really edit every aspect of it that you want. You can keep it simple format if you want, or you can adjust every little bit...great for novices or pros.

I have most of my posts which I've written over the course of 3 years and over 8 blogs! Ugh! I do not know what got into me, but I need to free up my time so I can work on the campaigns.
You guys are a great help, but where could I get an inexpensive host? I want total control over my site! lol. Oh my. No wonder I had 8 sites...what a control freak.
I switched from blogger to privately hosted Wordpress - I love it.
I left blogspot for wordpad, but i host my own domain instead of letting them do it on wordpress.com.
I personally love it.
I left blogger for typepad. I won't go back to blogger, I had nothing but trouble there.
