Thank you, Mustang. I'll never forget my first fight with the UMCJ with 2Lt Ilirio Pantano. I hate what happened to him, and that case got a lot of our men flat out murdered. I only wish these blowhards in Washington would go over there and spew their stupity in front of our men! I'd love to see what happens to them...nah. We have too much class and professionalism. Darn it!

The military equivalent of a grand jury (Article 32 Investigation) recommended no court-martial. The convening authority, however, can ignore that recommendation and proceed with trial. The only reason I can imagine that the CA would do that is if there is some political influence along the way. This entire novella is a slap in the face of an exceptional Marine commander—and the problem with this whole thing, beyond the Colonel’s comfort level, is that future commanders will begin to delay making combat decisions until they can check with “higher authority.” This situation will place our young troops in greater danger.
Everyone on the Court-martial Board will be equal to or senior in grade to Colonel Chessani, most will be Iraqi veterans—so I think he will be acquitted. The on-going sad part is that even if acquitted, this fine gentleman will probably never be promoted again. Not much thanks from a grateful nation . . . Your outrage is justified, Rosemary.
I think I do. Sometimes they go on the page until I wake up, though. Oh my, that could be anytime during the night!

Would you please do me a favor and pray for 3 teams in Afghanistan? If you go to my sidebar and check out Bill and Bob's Adventures in Afghan, these are the guys I'm trying to support. You would never imagine how stubborn they are as far as asking for anything and telling me they already have everything they need. HA! (lol)
They can always use prayers, and thank God one I know is a Christian man. I pray all day and night for their safety, success, families, other loved ones, and victory. I also pray that they return home safely, alive, sane, and in one piece. Also, that God will love them even after they come home.
It is so sad that many of them get forgotten about except on this day...
