The 1994 TV movie evidently escaped anyone's notice. It is indeed more timely than ever to do a major film on the Buck v. Bell episode before we find that the whole problem is just "too gray" or "too complicated" -- like slavery which was clearly understood as evil by the Founding generation but became ever more cloudy and complex through the decades leading up to the Civil War, as African Americans were slowly stripped of every natural and civil right they enjoyed at least in some states after the American Revolution.
