Wow. I don't think I've seen it since I was about 12 either, and I'm sure once they started dancing I ran out the room to play with my pet iguana or something. Now you've got me really curious how they handled this stuff in an old movie like that...

It's fascinating. Rent it. You can always fast-forward through the dances. Although the biggest (worst) number is the mandatory-for-awhile ballet/dream sequence, through which we learn the degradations of Laurie's life should she end up with Jed. Subtle enough for kids to completely miss it, pointed enough for adults to understand Jed really is a bad guy.
