I agree with your statement about the lack of theology in her books, but I feel that it would take a fairly morally ambiguous and innocent tale and possibly turn it into a bad influence. Especially considering the intended audience.

When questioned in recent months, Rowling has stated that chistianity will have a greater influence on the books to come. Whether she means that the books will become more of an allegory or relgiously themed or the books will have a new religious presence (in the form of a chapel, church or christian character) is anyone's guess.
I for one hope that Christianity is a blatant addition, but not because I think it's necessary. I appreciate that Harry Potter is a modern morality tale that's universally accepted and hope that never changes. I would just love to see the church leaders that have bashed HP as evil and demonic have to eat their words.

Thanks for the comments. I especially appreciated Loni's subtle jab at anti-Harry legions! I look forward to see how Rowling incorporates aspects of institutional faith into a story already brimming with issues of belief.
