You asked a question and I'm willing to provide an answer: YES. You're all freaks. I say that with love. Some of my favorite people are members of the mac owning cult.
But don't the counter-cultural odes of mac ownership lull you like a siren's song? You were an English major after all! Come to the mac side, Loni!
One question: why? I'm a tech-savvy girl who can build her own computer. Why would I pay 3 times as much for one? Because it's pretty? Seriously, it's not sports equipment. Graphic Designers, Film Students, Telecom geeks - these are the people who need macs. Explain to me why you need one.
Loni, I would never accuse of technological ineptness, but I would challenge your narrow listing of people who needs Macs. While your listing of Mac geeks is correct, I would add that everyone needs a stable, intuitive operating system that doesn't crash if you look at your monitor a bit askew. Furthermore, although it appears you pay more for a Mac, when you compare apples to apples, you get so much more with a basic Mac than with a basic PC when it comes to performance and software.
But most importantly, yes, it is pretty! Macs are the ultimate fashion accessory and far better than any Gucci bag. Honestly, can you put a price on such snappy design? I didn't think so!
