Gravatar Rather than "put us to shame" (as shame is such a lousy motivator to change), perhaps the Amish example should spur us on to love and good deeds.

What a remarkable example they have set of spirit-filled living in the context of spiritual community.

Gravatar I couldn't agree more. Shortly after this happened, the TODAY show featured an interview with a rabbi and presbyterian minister (she was female!). They talked about the forgiveness of the Amish community and how this was something that was practiced from the beginning of life. What if we really practiced forgiveness with our children and helped our children practice forgiveness? I hope it would bring about a different way of life for us.
