Myquestion here is, if this is a STATE program why is the STATE not investigating the fraud? Why does the county have to investigate this?

That seems to be the same thing the feds do. They make rules and mandate programs, and then stick the states with the bill of enforcing those rules.

It's time to have another tea party!

Gravatar Exactly right Rose.

In this case the state Assemblyman, Mason, complains about how the county looks into waste in a state program while voting against giving them the resources to do exactly that.

Mason is the very worst kind of partisan hack.

Gravatar Whoaaa! All of a sudden mason has a conscience about spending money? How many "Nays" did he cast in the last budget which increased spending and taxes? I don't think this is so much about him becoming frugal with taxpayer money, but rather not having the shirt tails of jim doyle to hide under anymore. mason won't have enough time to change his stripes before the next election.

Gravatar Elmer Fudd sort of beat me to it. I was going to say I was surprised that you were actually criticizing a legislator for showing fiscal responsibility. I thought this must be the first time in recent memory that a democrat voted against spending taxpayer money. (Has hell frozen over yet?)

I guess he wasn't trying to save taxpayer money, he is just against anyone going after fraud. If this passes, the next thing you know they'll target election fraud and we couldn't have that, now could we.

Gravatar He is voting against rooting out fraud while being critical of people not being able to do a job because he has not provided resources Bob.
