Thanks for my morning chuckle Fred. Here's my "take" on their comments.
"But they go ahead and scare kids with Communists." ---- I think all kids ought to be scared of the communists. All we have to remember is Lenin and Stalin and the millions that were killed under their regimes. Scared? You bet!!! It was insanity run amuck.
As for them being "defenders of the achievements of the old Soviet Union" ---- I seem to recall that the Soviet Union collapsed in my lifetime for the very reason that it achieved nothing except destruction and mass graves.
A great film by the way, that has come out of the new Russia about what happened to people in the time of that good ol' boy Stalin. It's called "Burned By The Sun". Yup, he was a sun all right----a son of a gun. Great scenes of the Russian countryside in it, great insight into how their families work, and greater insight into how destructive and horrible Stalin's mania was.
Communists????? Bah, humbug! They've achieved nothing, and I will enjoy every minute of that film as Indiana Jones gives 'em their comeuppance.

It's a movie. Fiction. Commies should understand fiction. The idea that Communism is possible without massive suffering is fiction.
The idea that Obama wasn't aware of Jeremiah Wrights bigoty is fiction.

gus has got it! Commies don't have much of a sense of humor, especially where the discussion involved the human suffering to get "achievements of Soviet and Russian technology."

I had family that lived in East Germany, and in some of the other Soviet block countries----and believe me, it was no picnick(sp?) for any of them since none of them were part of the "elite" which, of course, had privileges the common people never had.
Yeh right, communism-----the shining example for the world. NOT!

And this comment was downright hilarious: "Other communists said the generation born after the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union were being fed revisionist, Hollywood history."
The commies were masters of revisionist history---more than Hollywood will ever be, and they spread their revisionist history both in their own territories and all across the rest of the world, including in the U.S.A.
So if Hollywood is now poking a bit of fun at them, more power to Hollywood!!!I may not like much of what comes out of Hollywood, but at least it looks like they haven't lost their sense of humor.

Oh, so now the communists are offended by their portrayal in movies? What about the last 50-60 years? Do we have to delete those?
The US gets its share of criticism for Japanese internment camps, Gitmo, etc., but I guess all the horrid crap the USSR did should get a free pass?
