I think it's the same way a baseball team owner who hadn't spent 30 years in Congress could claim he'd reduce the size of government and lower our taxes, then greatly increase the size and worldwide footprint of our government and spend so much that your great-grand-kids will be shedding blood and/or taxes for it.

This is another example of Obama being consistently inconsistent. Some refer to it as "flip flopping", but I grow weary of that term.
Be it his position on financing his campaign, to off shore oil drilling, or even his change in attitude towards pulling out of Iraq, Obama talks and talks and talks about how things will "change" under his Administration. But at the last minute, the only thing that changes, is his mind.
I suppose the old adage is true: the more things change, the more they stay the same. Welcome to Obama Nation.

As the most liberal Senator of the bunch Obama wanted to show he was moving to the right so he made a choice to go with the 3rd most liberal senator as his running mate.
Elections are won in the middle, too bad for the dems the far left has taken over their party.
