Use anything you can think of - true or false - make it up if you have to, because you cannot allow this opponent to get any traction with the people. Destroy them at all cost.

\"Gravatar\"Unfortunately a third party does not have a chance of success and will only result in more Liberals getting elected because of the bleeding of votes on the Republican side. Moderates can never get themselves to vote for a real conservative which would be the third party person and they would therefore vote liberal. We saw what happens when a \"Moderate Republican\" runs with McCain approach. The only reason he got as many votes as he did was because of his choice of Sarah Palin to try to bring back the Conservative voters to the polls, since they saw that many of them would rather stay home than vote for him.

We need to reclaim the Conservative movement on the Republican side and defeat the Dems who are getting more and more liberal each day. Eventually they will be so far left that even the moderates won't vote for them.

We have to make sure the media is unable to paint the liberals as moderate at election time even though they always try to run as \"middle of the roaders\" to stay in power, and then show their true liberal colors after they are elected or re-elected pretending to be moderate. The Emperor's team was able (with the extremely friendly media) portray him as a middle roader even though as we see by his governing thus far that he is extremely left of even the average liberal Democrat.

As for quitting, I'm not in her shoes, and she did have a ton of media attention and frivilous suits against her that could very well have been distracting her from governing. Plus two new kids in the family. On the other hand, I don't think that quitting her first major league political job helps her make a case for a future job in a high level of government. Also, I think that her base of appeal, while very strong, is rather narrow. She'd make one heck of a Senator for Alaska with her clout and feistiness.

You're more right than you realize, GG.

Her appeal to Americans is quite broad, actually. Women can relate to her (unless you're a radical, no-makeup wearing, tie-dye t-shirt sporting, greasy haired pro-abortion woman, that is...), she's pleasing to the eye, she says what she thinks, she does what she says.

That's why she doesn't fit the template for the elite in either party, frankly.

I would never question the reason for her decision. As someone who experienced harassment, threats, and had a target on my back from the so-called women's groups I can relate in just a small way to what she was going through. When you're surrounded by \"lifers\" and you want to come in like a breath of fresh air you're bound to get a lot of blow-back.

I bet she knew that going in, though. But what she's been subjected to is so over the top, I can't say that I wouldn't have scooped up my kids and said Screw It. Let somebody else do this, now.

Whatever her future, I respect her accomplishments, class, and how she's put her family first. God Bless her. While the lib's think they got her out of the way, she may be more effective at leading an opposition against them by being out of office than while being in.
