Are you serious fred? If so, you have reached a new low the likes of gus/mickey/pcd. It has become obvious that the president can do nothin right according to you. Every reaction is the wrong reaction.
Why don't you watch the video:

and observe his mood before you go commenting on a press release. Because I know, and apparently you do not, that the written word cannot catpure the emotion of the spoken word.

lstw, I watched it live and was embarrassed that this man is our President.
He wants to give a SHOUT OUT before telling the people about a terrorist attack? What f***ing world do you live in?

I concur 1000%!!
A terrorist attack on US soil is far more important for Obama to make comment about than some final remarks thanking conference organizers etc….
This is other example of his lack of understanding about what being the Leader of the US is really about. He should have spent his time on the terrorist attack remarks 1st and then moved to the Tribal Nations Conference.
The importance and seriousness of this 3rd terrorist attack on US soil should be his major concern, not thank you for a nice conference with Native Americans!! Just a reminder of the 3 attacks on US soil -- #1 = 9/11, #2 = Little Rock Arkansas murder of two outside the recruiting station and now #3 murder of 13 on the military base.
Not only was this an occasion for him to show he understands the importance of keeping our country safe from terrorism but, he didn’t even get the “shout out” right!! He does not understand the difference between the Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Medal of Honor by recognizing Dr. Joe Medicine Crow as a Medal of Honor winner vs. the Medal of Freedom which is actually the award given. (Too bad he didn’t have his teleprompter running, maybe he’d have gotten it right.)
At minimum he needs to be called out for his inept handling of this and needs to apologize to the nation for not taking this terrorist attack with the full seriousness it deserved. He lacks the understanding necessary to be the leader of our nation.

I am very serious LSTW. The President acted inappropriately in a dark time.
He needs to recognize it and apologize for it.
I would not expect you to notice, the man can do no wrong as far as you are concerned.

Oh, and he gave a "shout out" to a man who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, not the Congressional Medal of Honor, as he identified him.
LSTW, you're incorrigible. If Bush had made that comment, not only would you call him an insensitive jerk, you'd also call him stupid for the 3,457th time.

After reading the remarks, I'm inclined to be lenient. This is literally the first time he's ever done something like this. What'd you expect, experience?
For me, this situation brings to mind two other instances where presidents said something in a time of crisis and were criticized for it.
One, I think of Bush's "My Pet Goat" moment, where he continued reading after being told of the attack on the WTC. I have always believed that was appropriate; the president should not flee in terror, nor alarm children, because something bad happened far away. Wrap it up and move on quickly, as he did.
Others disagreed strenuously.
I'm also reminded of the anecdotes about Reagan telling Ayatollah jokes before announcing the bombing of Libya (I think). I'm inclined to forgive Reagan this, too; I don't really want President Serious, and I kind of like the idea of the President mocking our clear enemies instead of playing nice with them.
Some present were horrified that he could joke during so serious a time, which during the height of the Cold War might lead to an exchange of nuclear weapons.
So the President didn't say it the way you would have, and perhaps chose an inappropriate time to demonstrate his hipness by saying "shout out." It's really not that big of a deal. Never ascribe to malice what can be more easily ascribed to incompetence. Set it aside as another gaffe and not indicative of his inner malevolence.
It would be nice to live in a world where the President, like a good parent, always knew just what to say. We, unfortunately, don't live in that world.
And we never have.

LiberalssidewithJihadists,
YOU Lambasted Bush for continuing to read to those school children rather than panicking them by jumping up and running to AF1. You hate the troops, and you hate America. Go to Gaza and fulminate your hate there.

"Never ascribe to malice what can be more easily ascribed to incompetence."
While I might agree somewhat with that statement, I also believe that such incompetence says a lot about a man. Incompetence is just not acceptable in this dangerous world.

O just did not want to give up his pretty speech about the Indian Conference, so tried to blend it with the tragic news. Or maybe it was his teleprompter that didn't get a smooth "transition." O just cannot prioritize the lives of Americans or react with immediacy called for in serious situations. Better watch yr backs, everyone.

It is a big deal plebian. It's the whole - hey how are ya, look at me I'm cool and oh by the way there are 12 soldiers dead in Texas....
He has done the right thing in lowering the flags to 1/2 staff, but the total and utter incompetence of that news conference just boggles the mind.

Did you ask for bush to apologize after he sat there in that florida classroom? If this as bad an offensive as you think it was, why didn't you equate it to bush?
You had an opportunity to show the kind of person you actually are, and did you ever fred. You say the left took every chance to point out how bad of a pres bush was and you said it wasn't fair. Now, you are doing the exact same thing.
By the way, if bill wilson could actually count seconds and/or minutes, you would see it was a whole one minute and 57 seconds. Not "spending three full minutes in front of the camera clowning with his fellow cabinet members and those who had shown up earlier for his hastily convened Indian Summit." But then again fred, you did say you watched the clip. RIGHT.

Bush showed leaderdssip time after time after time LSTW, you would never recognize it though.
BTW, Bush visited Fort Hood today, has Obama been there yet?
Bush did it without fanfare and without press.
Bush has shown more class than Obama ever will.

If memory serves me correctly, Bush was told of the attacks real time while talking to some kids. Nobody really knew what was going on at that moment or what the extent of the attack was or was going to be..... Obama was making his speak AFTER the Fort Hood killings but managed to give his peeps a shout out and thank the organizers of the event before even acknowledging the killings in his lame narcissistic way.... There's no comparing the 2.

Didn't any one tell you fred, bush isn't the president anymore. He is unemployed. I would hope he would be able to drive from his ranch IN TEXAS, to another point in Texas. WOW. What a leader.
I made the mistake of thinking you had class fred. Thanks for proving me wrong.

Clue in LSTW you brought in Bush.
I simply pointed out how often he acted with real leadership in times of crisis.
Something Obama has proven himself incapable of.

lstw said someone lacks class? LOL that's rich... hahahaha.... Wow, thanks for the best laugh of the month lstw.
And lstw you did bring in the comparison of Bush to obama. Bush was actually doing something which they were filming live. He acted correctly. obama had hours for his speech writers to work and failed. It was a disgustlng display of narsicism.

I think LSTW just faced a stark reality that his leader is a phony empty suit.
Instead of accepting that reality he lashed out in an attempt to justify his failed perception of Obama.
Fact is the man has made mistake after mistake.
And now in his first opportunity to show real leadership, he failed.
Here is an example LSTW. It was an appropriate response considering the day.
