I read the article and the URL, and it's just too funny. What's really behind all this global warming tripe and carbon offsets is this sentence from the article:
"The creation of an aristocratic elite that differentiates itself from the hoi polloi by its ability to buy "carbon offsets" while the rest of the planet is forced by environmental laws into a smaller and smaller carbon straightjacket is not so far fetched. . . "
That's it!!! And until those who tout global warming ad nauseum lead the way in their judicial use of energy consumption, there is no way that the rest of us ought to listen to them.
Algore might show some sincerity if he invested in something REAL, like underground housing or genetic engineering to develop crops that can withstand more heat. If he makes a profit from it I don't really care because profit is the name of the capitalist game. But at least it ought to be something useful instead of the rich being able to buy carbon offsets while the rest of us struggle just to pay our teensy electric bills in comparison. And he might even stop the jet travel, which uses more fuel for one trip than I will use in a whole lifetime.
What hypocritical crock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey if the Republicans hadn't nominated such a poor candidate I wouldn't have had to vote for this guy. I can understand it goes both way, but at least the Dems had the VP of a popular two-term president excuse. Besides, I voted in the Republican primaries because Bradley & Gore seemed about equal.
