I'm so sorry about your sick kitty. It's amazing how dependent animals are on their owners and your kitty is very lucky to have a mum like you who will sacrifice for him. I hope everything works out. Your boutique is a great idea and I will be sure to frequent it.

So sorry to hear about the kitty. The boutique is a GREAT GREAT idea. The best part of Sephora and Beauty.com are the bestseller list and the 5 star review list -- I always love knowing where to look to find something new that has been tested and highly recommended, or at least highly sought after. I will send a few of my own recommendations with reviews along in an email (by a few, I mean a lot).

Oh, I'm so sorry about your kitty! I got a little teary-eyed reading about him, and I have to admit I'm so happy I already have plans to go home for lunch today so I can visit my guy. I hope you get his medications settled ASAP as I can only imagine how hard this must be on both of you.
I think the boutique is a fabulous idea. Really, the only thing that could make it better is if you wanted to just deliver products to me! I like things nice and easy Like EF I'll send you any recommentations I have.

Awww, poor Real Cat. I have been very sad without Musey Cats around (they live with my folks in North GA with about 50 acres of land to chase small animals on... and rocks. They love chasing rocks), so I know how you just jump at the chance to protect them. Real Cat is lucky to have you as a mum.
And can't wait for the Boutique! A lot of times I just look on Sephora, listlessly going through products that I want to purchase, but I'm just not sure, and its not something they have in their stores to try out. So I will definitely be a RGB shopper!

I'm sorry the kitty is so expensive, but being a pet owner myself I know that it is absolutely worth every penny. I hope he is feeling better soon!
I love the boutique idea! I will definitely shop there once it is up and running.

That's a very cool idea - nice lateral thinking, RG! Is shipping internationally a possibility or a PITA?
I'm very very sorry to hear about Real Cat - I lost my "furbaby" last week and have been kinda inconsolable - they do worm their way into your hearts don't they? (and not in an icky pinworm kinda way; how's your pill-popping and injecting technique?). Love to the whole Real family,
x

Thank you *all* for your sweetest well wishes! Real Cat and I very much appreciate all the love!!
Jules, I'm *so* sorry about your loss. That's just heartbreaking. Many condolences.
Real Cat's not taking pills, and my injection technique involves lifting a tuft of fur and sticking the needle under the skin. It's actually not so bad! Real Cat doesn't seem to mind a bit. He's getting back to his old self now, and things are looking up. So we'll hope he continues on a good path!!

So sad about Real Cat! I know he's the cutest cat in the world because he told me so himself.
The boutique idea is inspired. I know for a fact I've called you at least twice from Sephora to remind me what I should be getting.

The boutique is a genius idea! I love it (and I won't even mind that you're helping to separate me from my money).
Good luck nursing Real Cat back to health.

Delurking to say my kitty girl has been diabetic for 5+ years and we do great. If you want to talk to anyone who's been there just email me. Also did they put Real Cat on PZI insulin? If so, once regulated it is much cheaper to order the insulin directly from the manufacturer.

Hey there Real Girl,
I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, but as the loving mommy of 2, yes 2, diabetic kitties (brother and sister) I can tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Once you get over the initial hump of testing and experimentation, things will settle into a routine. You will be spending more money at the vet than the average pet owner because you'll have to go more often, but over time the frequency of those visits will diminish as you learn to read your cat's behavior more accurately. You'll learn what is within ok limits and what really necessitates a vet visit. My girl diabetic is 19 and still going strong, so you may have a happy and healthy Real Cat for some time to come! (please feel free to email me if you have any questions at all.)
Hugs,
Banshee

Thanks for all the kitty support and info! We're settled pretty good right now, with consistent "dip" readings and a small dose of insulin. The change in diet has also done wonders (even though I never overfed him and he was on mixed wet food and dry food to begin with!)
But it's comforting to know there are friendly, helpful people to email should we need to!
Real Girl says thank you! Real Cat says Mawwwrrrrr!
