YAY!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it! |

Hah! Almost all of my husband's family (the Whitehead clan) lives in Cuero. I never think of my visits there as particularly blog-able (no wine, for one thing), so I'm probably doing it wrong. |

I tell you theres nothing better than to sit and listen to the stories from on old timer. I remember sitting there with my papi and him telling me the most amazing stories. The best one I remember was when he told me he was there when Pearl Harbor was hit. That cant be made into any movie. |

Cuero had me at "Wildflower Capital". I'm sold, even without the quilts and cattle. |

Stefani, just you wait. |

Our family WAS affected by the big flood -- Tom went down to help some of his aunts (my dad-in-law has 9 siblings, all still rough and ready!) dig the mud out of their homes. Many great stories about that flood, now that recovery is over... |

That porch? That really is exactly what I think of when I envision Texas, that and sun-browned women in tight calico shirts holding their hands over their eyes to gaze far across bleached expanses of grass and dust. |
