I'm growing some coriander, and we have some rhubarb that somehow survives without any attention.

Our lawn is wall to wall dandelions.

I'm no gardener, but would like to plant more stuff we can eat - and a walnut tree.

Mmmm, rhubarb pie. That sounds great. We grow coriander (cilantro) too, although we don't grow it for the seeds. We use the leaves in salsa and chili.

One thing I've been surprised by, given all the ink and tv time given to how to grow vegetables, is how easy it can be. As long as you've got decent soil and enough sunlight, you can usually get something to grow. Keeping the bugs off of it can be another matter...

Tomatoes, lettuce, peas, chives, mint, and basil. I only have a very small patch of yard, so when I move into a house (hopefully soon) I will plant a full garden like the one I grew up with.

The leaves of the dandelion are also very good for you, but the trick is to pick the leaves before the plant flowers. After the flowers come out, the leaves are much more bitter.

Eating weeds is one of my very favorite things, and I write about it with some frequency.
