I got Tri-star strawberries from gardeners.com --- I built them a bed on the porch because of the bunnies and am putting them in the ground today.

In any case, they are gorgeous, even though they're still just in pots. First strawberries which have survived this long here, which is odd because this is strawberry country.

So Tri-star - something to keep in mind for years to come --- I'll be looking for the Chandlers for other strawberry beds in the future.

You must be way far south --- your garden is lightyears ahead of me up here.


Good luck with your berry bed! I haven't seen any rabbits here but we are up to our eyeballs in squirrels. I'n in central TX, zone 8 (a or b, I can't remember) and our last average frost date it 3/15. For us the challenge is getting everything done before the weather gets too hot.
