thanks for the link. also, i enjoyed LAmom. it's thoughtful, a slightly different take on some ideas than i have. although i feel that prolife includes antiwar and death penalty. i'll keep checking that page for a while

Dear Redneck Mother,
Thanks for this post.
Those of us who combine standard liberal convictions (i.e.--poverty, pollution and war are bad things) with pro-life beliefs are sometimes hurt by the scorn that liberals (often justifiably) heap upon pro lifers, because it comes from folks with whom we feel a natural affinity.
But it turns out there are more than a few of us, especially mothers, who feel that protection of unborn life is consistent with progressive values including social justice and nonviolence across the board. I appreciate your acknowledging our existence in a tolerant fashion, especially as I am the mother of two little boys and a big fan of your blog.
