I really like Ay Perrito!

He'll be fine -- find a small tin of good ol' fashioned Goodwinol ointment. It'll clear it up like a charm.
(I shouldn't be diagnosing over the 'Net but your blog is great!)
Best wishes...

What a handsome!

I heard a woman say "he's got some mange on his paws" the other day as her puppy was meeting/wooing someone on the street and thought EW, isn't that contagious? But I guess not, or she wouldn't have let her dog slobber all over those people. Now I'm thinking it's more like psoriasis for dogs, no?

my dog had demodex all over her hind quarters. she chewed herself raw. very attractive to have a dog with an ass that looks like raw meat.

found you through bitch phd and twisty's blog BTW.

Yep, we once had a problem with demodectic mange, too, and I freaked out because I thought the whole family would be bald within a month. Thank goodness it's not the nasty kind (sarcoptic?).

Not only is it autoimmune but it tends to show up in younger dogs, I think. Once it's cleared up, you shouldn't have any more problem.

He's a handsome boy, by the way!

There is a heartbreaking story in one of James Herriot's books about a dog with incurable demodectic mange. Thank goodness for progress in veterinary medicine.
