Hi!

I just wanted to say that this post was so great. It make you start thinking in other ways for a minute. And that minute is all it takes to see things from a diffrent point of view..

Hope you and family had a great Thanksgiving.. Bye Bye

Hi KCB,

Thanks for this great post. You mentioned Women to Women to me once before, and I haven't forgotten. I'll let you know when I post on it. It sounds like a great organization.

Best to you and yours.

Brava!

:D

I believe there will come a day when we all might need our gardens, mostly because currently our whole network of grocery-store-chain-and-trucking-and-pesticides- and-fertilizer-thousand-mile-lettuce of a system is entirely dependent upon cheap oil (and gas and petrochemicals.) Our source of oil is depleting, and fast. And getting a lot more expensive to extract. If one day the grocery store simply doesn't have it, how would you get it? I think the days of Americans eating mangoes in January are numbered.

Cheers to Sarah for the comments because it saved me the trouble of writing much of the same.
I read recently about people that are trying to live with stored foods, reserves, the means to grow things, etc. and also about village planning in England where they made sure to have a greenbelt around the town to utilize if there is a war (again) that impedes the importation of food. Its not often we think of such things, but we should.
Please Redneck Mother write more about your correspondence with the woman in Rwanda.
