You're so right about the instant gratification, but the main reason I prefer blogging to actual paid journalism is that there ain't no deadlines. Man, I hate deadlines. I sort of miss having an editor, though, if only for the occasional free lunches.

Great outlet for the soul, isn't it? I no longer feel as if my head were going to explode, and I'm sure my hubby's happy not to constantly be on the receiving end of my nonstop harangue against the powers that be.
