:D Big Girl had her first egg hunt yesterday - a holdover from Evil Dad's childhood. I expect she'll be taking over like that next year.

Please, please post some pictures when you're done with the nautilus.

oh, you just made my day! great story!!

i ran a college dorm once, and among the more inspired/silly things i did that year was to leave nests of easter candy in all the quads. [the rumors i wore a bunny suit and hopped are *totally* untrue.]

my kids outgrew the egg hunt in their teens, but they still want their baskets, figuring that any excuse for eating chocolate for breakfast is a good excuse.

Those are just way.too.cool!

Keep it up and next thing you'll be doing is knitting abstract geometrical models, like this woman. There was a fascinating article about her in Discover this month. Mathematicians have traditionally neglected theories regarding hyperbolic space because they couldn't figure out a way to model it. Trust a woman to figure it out!

Yes Yes! Make the Bighorn Sheep Hat. It should exist.

Hey, that's my Nautie! Awesome. (I've been reading this blog for a while, linked from Twisty, so it's not like I was googling my pattern or anything. Er, at least not today).

I had the same thought about sheep horns. You should totally do it! With pictures!

Daina Taimina's hyperbolic planes are actually crocheted. She says she tried knitting them but the result was (a) too floppy, and (b) won't fit on any sort of needle - she ends up with gazillions of stitches on the edges of those things. I saw a talk by her in person; it was really cool.

Beth, that is too cool. I'll post pics as soon as I finish the coiled nautie. And when time allows, yes, I'll try the bighorn sheep hat.
