Well said. Too bad it needs to be said at all. And you are spot on about the real cause of the dreadful infant mortality rate in the US. |

Thanks for this post. I would never have caught it, and it will be excellent fuel for discussion in my bioethics classes. |

Hombre's comment is pure gold! |

Wow- can't wait until I'm past the fertile ages; then, no doubt, they can start treating me as pre-dead. |

Excellent analysis, RM, as usual. Thank you. |

I love your post, RM. And I haven't heard the phrase "get bent" since, well, let's just say it's been a while. |

Excellent rant. But you accidentally slipped... |

I'm a GP (family doc) in the UK -and I am particularly interested in the way this kind of thing alters GP rel'ships with pts towards being preventive health promoters rather than co-workers in managing problems etc. JoVE suggested I left you a comment though it is rather after the fact, as this kind of pressure on doctors from Gov't and hierarchy in general so affects the way we can work, and does effectively try to make us police people's (women's) lives. We don't have quite the same issues regarding access to healthcare here that you do in the US (terrifying) but in terms of the change in relationships that's coming. |
