Seriously, these guidelines (also remarked upon at Blondesense and Echidne's place) are bullshit of the most invasive sort. They posit that nearly all women should curtail their lifestyles on the chance that they might accidentally conceive and choose to carry to term.
We will have no choice in the matter. That's what's at the heart of this.
I'm a GP (family doc) in the UK -and I am particularly interested in the way this kind of thing alters GP rel'ships with pts towards being preventive health promoters rather than co-workers in managing problems etc. JoVE suggested I left you a comment though it is rather after the fact, as this kind of pressure on doctors from Gov't and hierarchy in general so affects the way we can work, and does effectively try to make us police people's (women's) lives. We don't have quite the same issues regarding access to healthcare here that you do in the US (terrifying) but in terms of the change in relationships that's coming.
