I understand completely. If I saw Bush following me, I'd run like the dickens the other direction, figuring I was in a handbasket headed for hell.

My husband's mother died last month at 96 - and wanted it said at her funeral that she voted in every election her whole life. And that she always voted Democratic.

Thanks for the wonderful story. It's good to know that we come from wise and strong women.

Honey - that is hands down the best grandmamma story I have ever heard! Your family must be a hoot! God bless that wonderful woman. First off - I hope like hell she's right about that white light. I would like to experience something other than blank nothingness when it comes time for me to die. And I also hope that someday you get to tell that story to Bush himself - though he'd never see the humor in it. Do you know who would? Clinton. I've seen that man laugh at himself with as much gusto as if the story'd been about one of his rivals. And thanks for the laugh, my dear. It was much needed today.
