What an excellent annual tradition! We don't have kids, but I can see the merit of instituting it here anyway. Maybe for National Shopping Day.
Hey, FYI, I ordered ten bags from the Maquiladora Justicia, etc. I doubt very much I will get them and get them decorated and posted in my store in time for the holiday shopping insanity, but I did think you'd like to know.

Have you heard of freecycle.com? You have one in Austin. People post items to give away. Interested folk email, they arrange a pick-up time and place, etc. My daughter does it a lot, and was telling me that there are a lot of people out there who had better times, and simply slipped down a notch or two economically. Plus, she has found a number of items that she can use. I think it's a neat idea.
