I would never have heard about this if I hadn't dropped by. Thank you. I have believed this myth for over 20 years, ever since being taught it in earnest by experienced woodswomen of my acquaintance in Alaska. Since we also have some black bears here in the suburbs of New England, it has still been controlling my life as recently as last month. No more.
