We are currently working on P.E. with a little math thrown in - golf, bowling, and skateboarding and addition/subtraction of three digit numbers. An odd combination, I know, but it's all BW has done in the last several months. It's been pretty awesome, but I'm working on a few ideas for him for the near future.

We're embracing Greece! Getting ready to make shields and swords and run around in sheets! However, the extremely scrawny Monkey Man looks more suited to run marathons than wield swords and fight wars, but hey, it's all about global domination when you're 7!

It was the complete opposite in my house, my parents were very scientific and technical and I was the lone creative/writer/reader of the group. I still turned out okay (except for my liberal tendencies according to my dad).

On a side note, I have a friend who's sending her son to a summer camp where they can make rockets. Here's the site:

Nathan's VERY into writing books at the moment. He writes all genres, but his current fave theme is writing Mo Willem-type books (such as, "Pigeon Wants a Family").

If he's into reading as well as creating comic books, I'd recommend the "Bone" series by Jeff Smith. It's a great story with gorgeous art, and manages to be child-friendly without pandering. It should be in the children's section of your local bookstore.

I've got a camp comment too - my 8 yo requested a robot camp, so I found one through the children's museum - and this summer, it's Lego-based. Last I heard, she's the only gorl enrolled...

Looks like Rocketboy is ready for this website:

Not robots, unfortunately, but still likely to appeal to him.

This one, however, is a good robot site that my kids like:
