Interesting how the phrase "Old St. Nick," and its connotation of the man at the North Pole, has pretty much subsumed the actual man, Nicholas, and his story.

Thanks, Jolie, for posting this. It's a great story to counteract the prevailing holiday "narrative" propagated by the folks on Madison Ave, i.e. spend, spend, spend.
