You take the good with the bad. With the snow comes milder temperatures and a temporary break from looking at grimy, sandy streets.
I miss the Northern Ontario winters. Pure white for four months, dry cold that you can keep out of the house and doesn't sink to the bone, and sunny, blue skies practically all the time.
When I was in high school, the winters were so dry and frozen, no one even bothered to wear boots if you didn't plan on being out for very long.
Skeptik — I watch the Vancouver (and Seattle) news with some amusement. What the hell are they talking about, I wonder, as I look out the window at the mildly rain-slicked street beyond my backyard. A few days ago however, we did have a "snowstorm" and it shut off the cable for an hour or so for some mysterious reason. Brrrr... Winter!
Hey, I lived in Alberta for 10 years... you can't phase me with your woeful Tales of Winter. I was in Edmonton when the thermostat didn't get over -30 (not including wind chill!) for over a month!
This is exactly why I do not talk to people on the left coast in early February. "Oh, it's snowing in Quebec -- the daffodils are just coming up here."
We just had freezing rain all night. I needed at mallet to chip away at the ice on the garage door this dooring so I could open it.
I don't even own an ice scraper for the car! LOL. When forced to, I use an old credit card.
Yes but the snow is so lovely ... and the next person who says that to me is going to get my foot up their ass. I hate winter.
