Red Tory v.2.0

That's the "invisible hand" at work, Red--the right one, rubbing up and down, with a little lube...

Gravatar Adam Smith would be immensely proud, I'm sure.

Gravatar The porn industry will revitalize the economy! Maybe we can base our entire economy on it. Our whole lives would be composed of going to work and screwing everyone we can, and then going home to relax in front of the TV.

Kind of like what we do now.

Gravatar I know I'm stimulated - and I'm not even American!

Gravatar Porn, or rather people with too much money to spend on it, has often driven technology development, from the VHS, to the WWW.

Gravatar How sad.

Gravatar "Porn, or rather people with too much money to spend on it, has often driven technology development, from the VHS, to the WWW."

Before the WWW there were BBS's.

Gravatar Missed that phase. Too geeky for me.

Gravatar I ran a BBS back in 1991 until 1995. Even had it on a local area network.

Gravatar To be honest, my interest in computers started just as BBSs were waning and the Internet was emerging as a more popular and accessible replacement.

Gravatar Ah, you missed life at 1200 baud....

Gravatar Commodore 64, tape drive. Now those were the days.

Gravatar I had a Sinclair with 1k memory (upgraded to 17k), then a VIC 20, then a home-made Apple IIE before breaking into an IBM XT.

Gravatar Heh. 1K memory.

How did those things ever manage to work?

At grad school 1988, I got to use a laptop. Weighed about 10 pounds and had a 20 MB hard drive. Whoo hoo!

Gravatar I worked at TI for a summer around the same time and they had a portable computer. It was huge and heavy and had a small tube screen in it. It was only portable because it had two hard handles on it.

I swear its power source had to be a fission reactor or something.
