I had actually just popped in a BS! (season 5) DVD when I got in from the bar minutes ago. I haven't watched this specific episode for a long time but my memory of it is that the part on Nukes is great and every environmentalist should challenge their view on it. The part on hybrids was stupid - Oh my god the car can't go zero to 60 really fast. Oh my god the car can't hold a fuckload of gear. Ridiculous argument.

WS — Agreed. I actually started watching this episode solely for the debate on nuclear energy. I think a lot of people my age have been completely brainwashed on the issue by received wisdom that's hopelessly out-of-date and misinformed.

The part on hybrids is badly skewed. Using highway mileage as the sole point of comparison for example gives a very misleading impression about their fuel-saving potential.
