Unlike yourself, I believe Mr McCain, seeing how he is a survivor of the Vietcong and knows first hand what being starved and almost killed for 5 years feels like.
He clearly hates war but is not a defeatist. He wants to finish the Iraq mess and make the world a better place for the Iraqi people.
Hillary voted for the war which was a very noble thing to do seeing it got rid of a person who slaughtered his own people, ripped off oil in the oil for food program with the help of the French and Germans and was just about the most brutal form of leader any country has ever seen.
This guys name was Saddam Hussein and he is rightfully in hell right now after recieving justice from the same people he denied it to for over 30 years.
People might not like pre-emptive war including myself, but in the future the world will realize that removing Saddam was a "humanitarian" mission and was long overdue.
That being said, I hope Hillary or McCain win the election seeing Obama has no experience wiping his own azzhole and would be a disaster for USA foreign policy.

Unlike you, I don’t presume to “know” what McCain thinks or feels. I’ve looked at some of his remarks in connection with oversight hearings concerning the missing vets in Vietnam and have been completely puzzled by the statements he’s made. I’m also not willing to give him a “carte blanche” when it comes to matters of war given that he was a bombardier with little serious connection to the realities of the destruction rendered by the payloads he dropped on the enemy.
It’s now considered “impolite” to say so, but he co-operated with his Vietnamese captors and received special treatment as a result at the “Hanoi Hilton’ so I’m not altogether ready to buy into the line that he was incredibly hard done by while imprisoned during the Vietnam War.
I don’t “know” this man in any way at all and it astounds me that others seem happy to fabricate an impression based on the most sketchy sort of information about the man derived from some canned media narrative.
