PostalReporter.com

oh-oh, this doesn't look good for pmg potter

"Jaffer said that all expenditures questioned by the inspector general were reviewed and approved by postal officials and all were for Postal Service functions."

It seems like the official who approved Jaffer's expenses should be booted out the door.

I thought it said since he was a VP he could approve his own.

I still find it puzzling how this internal admin report made it to this public site. I know there was a FOIA filed but I thought there were some restrictions on internal documents especially when they are so inflammatory against an individual. But I guess the ig lawyers felt it was ok. In any case the ig reports apparently list "findings' which are not evidence. Would the witnesses and "findings" withstand the scrutiny of cross examination? Who knows and we'll never know since Mr. Jaffer resigned/retired from his position which makes one believe some of it would have stuck.

WHY DID HE QUITE THEN????

approved by the postal service ? but is willing to pay back the postal office, for when his wife {misters} accompanied him illegal?,a employee picks up a dime off the work room floor, they get walked out of the building in hand cuffs and they get fired,HUM!!sounds fair,,

ya real fair!

He messed up,he should of walked away and kept his mouth shut! Criminal charges will be coming soon in retaliation for him running off at the mouth!

I didnt do nothing that everybody else dont do, its not fais to use me as a scape sheep as we say in my country...do I drink a lot...compared to the bum on the street...absolute vodka no! Compared to a nun...weel, it depends what color panties she is wearing, I like nuns...

I am no different than anybody else in management, I also treat EVERYONE UNDER ME VERY WELL! I am known for promoting females under me...maybe one day Ill try a new position...

No criminal charges will happen. Unfortunately based on the report
it looks like the prosecutor was already asked by the investigators if they would prosecute and said no. That's why they gave the Kalkines warning. Neither the PMG, ig, inspectors arrest someone, most of the time, without the prosecutor giving the go sign and with this type of high profile person never without prior approval. So don't bad mouth the ig. I'm not their biggest fan but in this case they did what they could and the pmg has absolutely NO arrest powers.

These corrupt managers are all thieves one way or the other. That is how they qualified for their positions in DC.

I hope he takes all the VIP's down with him. That would be faboulous

good observation action

for posters unfamiliar with ware of what a Kalines here is a brief summary:

A Kalkines warning waives the government’s right to use voluntary statements in a criminal prosecution, but preserves its right to discipline an employee for refusing to cooperate in the investigation.

A Kalkines warning typically contains the following (sample) information:

You are going to be asked a number of specific questions concerning the performance of your official duties as an employee of the United States Postal Service. You have a duty to reply to these questions, and agency disciplinary proceedings resulting in your discharge, may be initiated as a result of your answers. However, neither your answers nor any information or evidence which is gained by reason of such statements can be used against you in criminal proceedings. You are subject to disciplinary actions up to and including dismissal if you refuse to answer or fail to respond truthfully and fully to any questions.

This should be reported to the Justice Dept that the OIG is not putting his ass on trial

Gravatar The Inspection Service and the OIG have no power to charge you. They do the investigation and report and the US Attorney decides whether to charge or not. And the US Attorney does not work for, nor are they influenced by the Postmaster General. If there is enough evidence of wrongdoing, the US Attorney will charge him. If there is not enough evidence to convict, he will walk.

Gravatar That lying SOB!

Gravatar What exactly was Vonzelle doing at Jaffer's house anyway?

Gravatar I heard the Postal Service paid for two private attorneys to represent their precious VP. So, he gets to live the high life and blow all kinds of cash, and then he sticks us with a hefty legal bill to boot?

What kind of messed up policy is that?

Gravatar Unfortunately and regretably it appears by reading the report as a whole, there is not enough evidence to charge him with anything. Ovetipping, using the wrong charge card, allegedly propositioning female employees is not a crime.

Jaffer probably released his response to the public because of the growing chorus for Potter to take action. Even Republican groups are jumping on the bandwagon for Potter to file criminal charges.

Gravatar If Jaffer's expenses were undetected by normal procedures, where is the accounting for the monies??

It's obvious Jaffer was not the only HQ official utilizing this little scheme. Officials (and mailers) have often stated Headquarters management should compensated much better.

Gravatar Jaffer needs to used as a poster child during contract negotiations. Every time Management cries broke, pull out the report on Jaffer. Especically the part about management having carte blanche on self-approving their own expenses.

Gravatar Craft employees use the same excuse and won't take responsibilty. They steal overtime everyday and commit fraud by calling in sick when they are not sick. A thief is a thief whether you wear a suit or a uniform. It's time to bust these sorry a$$ unions and send these clowns on the road.

Gravatar LOSERS

Gravatar I too found it odd that IG report "blacked" out all the names except Vonzell. That's messed up.

Gravatar Jaffer is truly puzzled why he is being singled out when all postal mismanagers steal every day in every way.

The fish rots from the head down.

OIG should investigate harry Potter and his cronies-start with the bogus bonus money scam.

Gravatar I have said for years that the problems with the PO are at the top. I believe someday that the management of the mail services should be contracted out! It is not the work or the cleaning or the machine mait. that needs contracting it is the people in charge. Put private management in place to work with the present workers, get a fair system for all. No more just friends and relatives running the place. A private management contract would have to watch waste like this since they would be working under a real budget that would require such.

Gravatar Our company is going to have to place a special assessment on all postal employees to cover the unpaid balances of Mr.(I like blondes) Jaffer and other top postal managemnt! We sent many hot chicks to keep Mr. Jaffer and his management cronies 'company'. Since the heat of the OIG investigation we have not been paid for our services.Diamond,Cherry and Brandy do not work for free, they have bills to pay. Please send payment for services rendered!

Gravatar mw...has a point to contract management. The problem with the USPS is it promotes craft employees that are unqualified. They have no education or skills. Many of these folks have come from the union. Some were stewards which were unqualified to represent us as a steward. These stewards hid behind the union to save their jpbs. Now these union peoople have taken this mentality into management. There's where the problem lies. DUmb a$$ union folks going into management and screwing up the USPS. Another reason to bust these unions and weed out all the mental midgets and replace them with contract workers.

Gravatar If he is tried and found guilty maybe he could become the postmaster at Allenwood Federal Prison.

Gravatar More than likely the postmistress if Bubba has anything to do with it!

Gravatar Throw the bum behind BARS,and take away his pension..

Gravatar Well of course, they always deny any wrong doing. He is just practicing what he learned from the Postal Service.

Gravatar okay so his ass is covered for those questions asked under Kalkines warning, but there is so much more the IG could uncover about him that would not be covered and he is still on leave until October...so what's the holdup. Come on Jack take a stand on behalf of all postal women

Gravatar Don't call for my resignation now, I'm really busy driving the negotiations with all the unions to impass. After that I'll do an end around and run to congress and the white house crying that collective bargaining in the USPS is broken, postal reform, postal reform, the sky is falling.

After all of you craft employees are making Walmart wages you'll forget about be and Azeez.

Gravatar As someone who used to interfeace with Jaffer and his cronies all the time at USPS (I was a USPS employee). I would not doubt the veracity of these stories. He has been the biggest slimeball for years. We would take some of us in a USPS paid Limo to an open bar parties at Burston Marstellar HQ, he would constantly harass femal employees and would accept gifts/favors that were in violation of government ethics. I have known this jerk since 1998. He should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He is one of the reasons why I left. If knuckleheaded Potter (who constantly walks around with blinders) took this long to deal with the problem, think how long it will take him to deal with other problems at Postal. All Potter cares about is the 'old way' of doing business, not reinventing the way you SHOULD do business (FYI. Potter can barely use his PC....trust me on this).

Gravatar Contract out all managers....

Gravatar humptydumpty -
What do you mean Jaffer is on leave until October. Do you mean he is still on the postal service payroll??

Gravatar These managers lie for a living.

Gravatar Do you believe this????

Jaffer also on Sept. 1 removed himself from the Postal Service’s payroll and was paid the remainder of his earned vacation pay, which he had been scheduled to keep receiving in installments through the end of October. It is unclear why he removed himself from the payroll. Jaffer, who as vice president for public affairs and communications earned an annual salary of $164,000, earned $53,000 in vacation pay.

Gravatar If Jaffer did nothing wrong why did he hire a top-rated criminal defense attorney

Gravatar I want his lawyer!!!!

Dammm!!!!

How much for his lawyer???

WOW!!!!!

Bet his health insurance and sick leave are intact too

WOWEEE!!!

I want that lawyer!!!!!!

Gravatar The postal service won't force Jaffer to repay the money unless it forces other managers to fork over the dough.

Gravatar oh my god!

Gravatar SUUUprise!SUUUUprise!

Gravatar Jaffer also on Sept. 1 removed himself from the Postal Service’s payroll and was paid the remainder of his earned vacation pay, which he had been scheduled to keep receiving in installments through the end of October. Gravatar The Postal Service mislead (lied) the public when it said Jaffer left postal service.

Gravatar Something fishy is going on at L'Enfant Plaza.

Gravatar earned $53,000 in vacation for next two months.I have to work THE WHOLE YEAR WITH SOME O.T to earn that much.P.O won't ask anythings because he might start pointing finger at all the upper managements.

Gravatar What would happen if a letter carrier had 46,000 in questionable expenses?

Gravatar $164,000 a year to act like a shriner at a convention. Maybe us postal workers are overpaid. No wait a minute the workers aren't just the people at the top saying we make too much.

Gravatar Jaffer resigned in June but still on the payroll until Sept.1? It sounds like he was given a golden parachute! He and everyone invovled in this coverup needs to go to prison!

Gravatar Ok....let me get this straight.....this guy not only got to approve his OWN expense reports...but also was able to decide how long he was able to stay on the payroll for? What a joke.

Gravatar The rent a pigs(IS) turn their backs as usual.Time for them to be removed as well.

Gravatar Who is advising and protecting the PR interests of Mr. Potter and the USPS in this PR crisis? UHM....HELLO!...it's the original Jaffer cronies themselves and they are still in contact with AJ on a daily basis. Mr Potter needs a neutral and competent PR advisor whose sole interest is the PMG and USPS. The current advisors have betrayed Mr. Potter and the USPS and need to get the hell out. Did anyone advise Mr. Potter about the PR risks involved if the OIG report was FOIA'ed BEFORE they let him praise A. Jaffer? This is serious shit and personal AJ loyalities should NEVER interfere with the duty of protecting the USPS and PMG. Clear the entire PCES slate on the 10th floor!

Gravatar Potter, Jaffer and other assorted mismanaging crooks should be jailed under RICO law.

Potter and Jaffer can work in the mail room at Levenworth, Kansas.

Gravatar Everyone knows nothing will be done about his fiasco. There is no one to make any of the PCES accountable.

Gravatar sfo-Potter and Jaffer will be working in the 'male' room on 'nutting' trucks at Leavenworth,KS prison!

Gravatar F. Lee Bailey was correct, when he said, "The most corrupt organization in America, is the USPS". How can anyone have any respect for these pieces of trash?

Gravatar Jaffer did not believe in promoting females. He wanted all females"under" him.Management cover up,keep what you earned and stoled.

Gravatar Quick question, How is it that Jaffer was able to retire when he didn't meet the age requirement?

Gravatar Sic Semper Tyrannis

Gravatar Unions should get an accounting of PCES self-approved expenses. Remember the moving scam expenses that was halted after it became public.

Postal Workers livelihoods are being disrupted under the guise of saving money. But its seems the money saved is being used toward PCES frivolous expenses.

Gravatar All these special dispensations for Jaffer while we hourly slobs sweat our balls off and get disciplined and docked for a unit or two. Let PCES and their EAS sycophants ROT IN HELL. Burn baby burn.

Gravatar and they want me to pry 4 dollars out of grandmas hands for a letter she really didn't care when it got there..
do you want insurance, are you really sure? it might not get there.. please buy insurance or I will get diciplined because they don't believe that i am asking all the questions. How much money do I have to steal from a trusting public to pay for Jaffers parties?

Gravatar Most of you are right on with your comments. The big shots lie, steal and sexually harass more than the craft people and will always get away with it! 64,000 is a drop in the bucket when you make 160,000/year. Don't worry his debt will be paid back to the p.o. via more clerk jobs eliminated. We craft people are the ones paying their debts to the P.O. they spend all the cash friviously and we pay for it in the end. He probably got many hefty pay for performance bonus's too!
It's a true shame that these type of people are in charge of the P.O. and our job futures. And they claim the largest expeses in the P.O.are labor costs--yeah right-we laborers know better.

Poor Vonzell, they just want to smear her name (in an attempt to ruin her singing career) after she gave the P.O. so much credit on the idol show and the P.R. she gave them after the show, when in reality she's too talented for the P.O.and has the ability to make it big all on her own.

Gravatar The Pohater will continue to take naps on the clock, beat off in the john, file grievances to waste time, disrespect the supervisors whilst demanding they respect him, show up stoned and drunk, insult co-workers, misdirect mail and sabotage machines in his own version of "going postal". But I could never do the dirty like the #1, Z.Z. Jaff.
ZZ, the Pohater salutes you. ZZ, you have shown us all just what, "going postal", really means.

And you do seem to be proud of your behavior, which does not surprise me. Because you know you are better than everybody else and deserve everything you have stole. Go ZZ,Go!

Gravatar Anonymous wrote : Quick question, How is it that Jaffer was able to retire when he didn't meet the age requirement?
anonymous | 09.02.06 - 11:21 am | ----------------------------------------They didn't want fat assed Al "OVERSTUFFED SAUSAGE" Sharpton & Jesse "WHO'S YOUR DADDY" Jackson on every channel in America. By the way, I AM BLACK.....from the waist down.

Gravatar Sorry folks. His offenses fall under the guise of 'mis management' and are not necessarily of themselves criminal actions.

Gravatar you people are insane

want quality people pay them. What managers make is a joke especially in DC
How is that both unions have people at the top that make more than the postmaster general.
Dont want to comment on that do you.
AS for perks get real what the heck do you think FEDEX and UPS do with their clients
Take them to a public park and serve them hotdogs with no alcohol.
I am not making excuses for the idiot sounds like he screwed up, but if you think business is run any other way you are crazy
And as a postmaster who in the last three years has averaged a 3% pay rais every year I want you to stop bellyaching. You darn craft people have gotten more than I have. OH YES just compute your COLA and the raises and add them together you sniveling cowards

Gravatar Snorkeling....as a postmaster maybe you can answer me this.....Why do postmasters and supervisors treat us like such shit? Do you not realize you will get more out of people if they are motivated and treated like human beings? I have never worked for anyplace that was so efficient at DEmotivating its employees.

Gravatar I predict Jaffer may come into headquarters and go postal! The reason is you took away his opportunity to make extra cash through unlimited postal credit card expenses, took away his opportunity to drink all the postal service paid for liquor he could and took away his ability to have sex with and sexually harass his female coworkers! What does Jaffer have to live for now? (I am not Jaffer)

Gravatar To the postmaster who's crying because he only got 3% pay increase. How big was your bonus?

Gravatar Quit promoting postal employees into top positions. Instead, hire qualified managers off the street who have REAL life experience managing a business and pay them what the private sector pays. You will see better results.

Gravatar They are hiring managers off the street in my office, and they the dumbest one yet.

Gravatar bonus haha

again what are you talking about, Pleeze get do not swallow all the doggrel that the unions put out. you are a patsy

I have given out over 3,000 in employee awards (aka bonuses) to my craft employess this year and what did I receive nada zilch obviously you have made no effort to educate yourself

Gravatar It's obvious that PCES operate under different rules for its members. Unfortunately and regretably nothing can or will be done to reverse these rules.

Gravatar That's right, get over it.

Gravatar This IS an embarrasment to us hard working mgr stiffs. We make a wrong turn with a g-car and we are looking at a downgrade.

Gravatar This is an embarassment to the entire postal service.

Gravatar There has to be somebody or some federal agency willing to investigate PCEs spending habits. If Jaffer's lavish spending was approved, it's a possibility many more at HQ doing the same thing.

Gravatar I am very sad Senor Jaffer go away.
Now who going to buy all my tequilla
and who going to give my sisters mucho big money for grande lap dances. me ask Senor Jaffer whey he go and all he say is "I deny everything".

Gravatar I heard Jack Potter ok'd a limo for Jaffer to come pick up his "vacation pay".

Gravatar Forget the COLA. I want lap dances and "postal parties" made mandatory in the next contract.

Gravatar Jaffer's going to be Jack Potter's limo driver. He's got lots of experience with limos. Is there any government agency that has more hyenas than USPS?

Gravatar All you craft scum lay off Jaffer.
You would need a drink or two also if you were in his shoes of trying to smooth over craft absurdities.

Gravatar REPAY MONEY USED FOR THE WRONG PURPOSE? Oh please that's only for the bargaining unit employees...management and their cushy buddies get off AS USUAL...46 grand down the drain and then management talks to us about being one or two CLICKS late from breaks...OH PLEASE GET REAL!!!

Gravatar why isn't this worthless piece of postal mis-mgt in jail. if it was a craft employee he would be under the jail. rise up against disparity of treatment.

Gravatar what me worry? not me i am a member of the postal mis-mgt family we take care of each other. f--- those nasty little craft employees.

Gravatar Maggets, everyone of us; Maggets.

Gravatar Thieves with big mouths always get caught and Im the GUY THAT STRAIGHTENS THEM OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL. PAYBACK IS A MUTHA! ♠¸.•*¨)₪♣§OuTlAw ☆ LeGeNdZ§♣₪ ☆•´♠©
