Gravatar Rene, So glad I stumbled upon your blog. (Thanks to David McCullough and 1776.) I appreciate your perspective and insights. Couldn't agree more with you about Aung San Suu Kyi. Knowing how you put things in context, I thought you might like to see my blog on the Navy's Professional Reading Program - my latest review is 1776...

Gravatar Beautiful post!

Gravatar I think we forget the same reasons in Canada, though our fight for freedom and independence was not as bloody and dangerous as yours. We didn't get ours until the more civilized time of 1867, even then it wasn't a complete severance.

Great insightful post.

Gravatar Hope you had a great 4th of July holiday! Very interesting post.

Gravatar Oops - help if I signed my name!

Hope you had a great 4th of July holiday! Very interesting post.

Gravatar Great post and so true. We complain about our country a lot and it's not perfect but it's truly wonderful to live here and be free.

Gravatar Great post. I love studying about the American Revolution - it renews my faith in this country and her people.

Gravatar Great post! Speaking of independence, watch the movie, Iron-Jawed Angels, to get a look at what the rebellious women went through to get the right to vote.

Gravatar Thoughtful, intelligent post.

Gravatar Thanks for stopping by. Love the background wallpaper on your blog - very strawberry wonderfulness . . .
