An artist, himself a walking billboard covered in tattoos, who makes his living in the field of advertising that sway others people's opinion, who wants to stop people from doing the same thing.

too funny.

are you really upset over the message? or are you just upset that they are getting more attention than you?

Gravatar When have I said that artists shouldn't be able to put their opinions out there?

And what do my tattoos have to do with this? Did the government fund them?

Get a clue.

Of course I'm upset over the message, that was the intent of the artist. But my issue is with the improper use of TAX dollars to fund and display an anti-American painting in an airport.

The artist is free to display his work in a private gallery.

And I couldn't care less about the attention. Nice try.

Gravatar One point man...artists, being what us non-artistic types call "fucked in the head", are known to overstate positions merely to generate controversy. I find the poster to be disturbing on many levels...one of which is how closely the damn thing resembles the fugliest tattoo I ever saw. I'll tell you about it sometime.

Generating emotions is what art is supposed to do...you can assume the artist wanted to generate the emotions you feel, but can't assume anything about their views.

See what working for a year in the Art Institute of Chicago will teach you...that is if you keep your mind out of the art...

Gravatar sorry, missed the clue. Need the clarification "let the portland authorities know THAT YOU DO NOT WANT THIS TO BE FUNDED BY TAX-PAYER DOLLARS".

And to think I was going to tell them that I did not like the fugly thing itself.

I think Dan is right, you artists are all in cahoots. A vote against this moron sends the message that the portland authority got their moneys worth - it got peoples attention.
